Sunday lunch for 4 and accompanied by a dog! Service was excellent as was the food and the atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and the whole experience was great. Great value for money, excellent Sunday roast and more than we could eat. We can't wait to come again! Highly recommended.

The wife and kids were looking forward to eating here. Phoned to book a table, which was a little awkward as they were speaking to existing customers about their bill, thought they must be busy and that its lucky that I phoned to book a table.Booked the table which we arrived 15 minutes early, people enjoying the sun in the garden, which did look nice. We were told that they are waiting for the waitress to arrive, so ordered our drinks and sat down to wait to be seated.After an hour we got fed up of waiting, so I paid for the drinks and left.Unable to comment on the food due to not actually getting as far as the table which we booked.Not sure if this was an anomaly, but there were two members of staff behind the bar most of the time. Maybe we should of asked if the waitress had turn up yet, but we waited patiently for an hour..

The steak meal was very nice but the chips weren't very nice. Less chips and better quality potatoes would improve the meal tremendously. I remember when they used to serve home made chips which were lovely.

The Sunday roast is really really good, very nice food and lots of it too. Served hot on warm plates, lots of choice of meats or veggie options too. Roast potatoes were amazing. Deserts were lovely. Only thing that was a bit off was the service, staff were a bit unbothered and just seemed like they needed a bit more training but could well have all been new staff to be fair. The young lady was laughing at me when taking my order because I had to explain a dietary requirement, which could be embarrassing for someone else but I didn't really care as I am used to explaining this and it's something very very easily catered for anyway, and the order wasn't right when it came but to be fair it was rectified very quickly. Excellent price too. Will come back!
Went for Sunday Lunch. Staff were very accommodating. Ordered the chicken dinner - which was actually chicken. Lots of vegetables to accompany it but not a lot of flavour. A bit disappointing. It was a nice day but couldn't eat outside. Shame. Pub is in great location with large outside seating area.

Ordered fish and chips, as only decent item with any quality apart from steak on menu, but told they didn’t have, so ordered the most expensive on the menu which was 10oz rump steak, chips were nice but looked like they were frightened to give them away, salad was out of a bag and looking tired, but worst of all was the steak, looked nice and was tender, but It just didn’t taste fresh, it had that gone off after taste, so I didn’t enjoy it all all, so for what we paid it could of been a lot better, two hungry men who walked out of the pub hungry, if I were the landlord/lady and I knew that I wouldn’t be happy, so thats why I am writing this review, come on its not difficult, serve food that you would be happy with yourself, we paid good money and you failed miserably , I would have a pint here but I wont be eating here again.

Disappointing stay. The hotel has so much potential, but the staff were so inattentive. Had to ask someone if we could order breakfast despite 4 staff sitting down and having a chat. Would not go back

Visiting with friends so the children could play in the garden while we enjoyed a catch up. I requested allergen information and was told “we don’t need to provide this as we’re such a small establishment” - hmm not what the gov food website says. Meals were nice, good price, puddings were lacking.
