Wonderful chip shop. Absolutely head and shoulders above Fintans who employ a team of underlinings to run it badly whilst the owner is hands off. Five Star however has the owner running the shift and mucking in. He’s a top guy and a friend I’d say. That aside, the chips are always fresh, the service is brilliant and it’s a well run business. Lovely place to get fish and chips, however on this occasion I bought a Chinese from next door and only wanted a large bag of chips from here to accompany it.. I had to wait 15 mins in a very slow moving que to get them. Upon getting to the counter the very nice people behind the counter are moving and packaging up things at a snails pace and are totally oblivious to the large que outside forming.. on a rainy day when the que is equally as large (as they often have an unnecessarily...read full review

Only a 4 star now as the portions used to be a lot bigger, however the chips are very nice indeed small portion are £3 and large £4 so perhaps a little above normal cost but the quality is worth it.
