I really liked this place.A curry place on a boat is a little bit different, and didn't matter it didn't float down a river, the experience was still worth it.The food was good, especially the boat specials. My partner had the buttered chicken, but the sauce was quite sweet, however the texture and amount was good. The service was good and as a restaurant was quiet however as a takeaway was quite busyPersonally, I loved it as somewhere different, price wise was quite competitive.I learned also that bombay duck is in fact a fish.

Fab fresh food. It was delivered on time...still hot.

I was taken by friends to this restaurant last Friday and my vegetarian food was one of the best Indian meals I have tasted. Highly recommend this unusual boat restaurant, lovely atmosphere and friendly attentive staff.Parking: I believe it is free parking in the evening

As a family we love Shampan, the food is very good, the service is great, and the view of the river is interesting, also it has a certain quirkiness which we love.Vegetarian options: I am a Vegan and I have always found something tasty to eat at Shampan

Let me start with the good parts of our meal and then the issues. Firstly the restaurant is on a boat, it’s quirky and a little unusual. The service was good (although we were the only people there), friendly and fairly speedy. The food was also good, not the best but definitely above average and not over priced. The naan bread was excellent. The issue, this place is filthy. Not bedraggled or rundown but dirty, the carpets are filthy and you can’t see out of the windows for dirt. Dirty table clothes are covered with plastic sheets..move these at your peril to reveal a multitude of stains. There are cobwebs on the inside of the windows. I’m generally not fussed about a bit of muck but this was another level. I imaging the upkeep of a old boat must be hard and never ending but there is no excuse for how dirty this place was and with some minor improvements it could be a fabulous place to eat

Food and service were fantastic the best Indian food I've had in a very long time. They were able to make me a cucumber raita that wasn't on the menu which was greatly appreciated. They do serve alcohol. The restaurant is on an old boat so makes for great views and a nice atmosphere. Not much else to say, just go.

Visited many times & the food is always good & plenty of it. I usually have a doggy bag to take away what I can't eat! Service is good. It is on a boat moored up at the riverside & while the decor is a bit tired, the views are gorgeous. Prices are good too.

Always a delicious meal here. Very reasonable price and the service is brilliant every time. We really look forward to each time. It could do with a freshen up on the decor but the food is the reason we come. Thanks to all at shampam

Frankly a great disappointment. The promise is good with your meal served on a boat on the river, but the reality didn't live up.Inside the decor is well in need of a refresh (to put it mildly) The service was chaotic and despite having two vastly different meals we couldn't tell them apart. We'll go to Abduls (at the other end of the car park) .next time

The nan breads were excellent. the service was good, the location interesting, the boat could do with a bit of maintenance and the carpet could do with a hoover it was covered in rice and poppadom bits. We were really disappointed with the food, it wasnt as good as previous visits. and expensive £100 for four of us - no starter just poppadoms and dips, 3 drinks and no desserts. All our dishes tasted the same and were too sweet full of sugar and no flavour. They all tasted like different coloured korma. The chicken makhani was full of giant cubes of something that wasn't chicken which tasted like they had been marinaded in sugar. (paneer?) no interesting indian flavours. shame. wont go back unless we hear the cooking as got more authentic and less sugar. we didnt need a sweet.

Interesting Location. Food was really good and not to expensive as restaurants go.

I don't remember having a better Indian meal! The food was superb! The staff were all friendly and polite. Being on a boat, the setting is brilliant. We watched the tide coming in around us while the sun set.Vegetarian options: Being Indian cuisine, there's plenty of choices for vegetarians.Parking: The restaurant is on the edge of a public car park, which only charges up to 6 p.m., after that it's free.
