Visited here for lunch as a family of 4. We ordered fish, chips and mushy peas for 3 and sausage, chips and mushy peas for 1 of us. The portions were a good size in fact 3 of us couldn’t finish ours. The fish was a good size as well, we all opted for our peas to be poured over the rest of our meal and the staff didn’t scrimp there was plenty of peas. Maggie came recommended to us by friends. Visited for a fish supper. Premises tidy - but it was quiet for peak time on a Saturday night. All the staff look like they’re filling in between school & university. The quality of the fish was excellent but ruined by soggy, sponge like batter. We scraped it all off. Called in at 4.30 pm on a weds, everything was fresh, the chips were just finishing when we ordered!All the ladies behind the counter work friendly and efficiently.The portions are generous, and prices are reasonable, we paid £16 for small chips with bitesize fish, haddock and chips, steak pie and chips, a jumbo sausage, a large pot of gravy and a small pot of spicy curry sauce!
