Central convenient location for town centre and a 2 minute walk from the railway station. No car park BUT within about 50metres of 24hr NCP.Undergoing a big programme of refurbishment, this grand and imposing hotel is in need of the tlc the current owners are applying to it.I'm not going into to picky detail about the bedrooms but for me, adequate and reflected in the rate. Booked this hotel as its the perfect location for the town centre if you want shops/cafes in the daytime or restaurants /bars in the evening. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming and that made me feel instantly at home. The lobby area has been decorated so beautifully so it's lovely to sit and have a drink at the bar, meals are also available from their restaurant menu. Stopped here a couple of times because -It’s well pricedIt’s cleanThe shower is very goodThe room is spaciousit’s quiteAnd the staff are helpful and friendlyThere is no on-site parking but I’ve always found a space nearby
