We have started going here monthly for the Sunday quiz and the customer service is just outstanding. I had a broken toe and the lovely ladies who work there were falling over themselves to make sure I was comfortable. Alison who does the quiz is so personable and there's a lovely northern lady who always comes over and has a chat with us. The place is really cosy and has a local friendly feel to it. We usually order the Sunday dinner, which is delicious. I wish we had a pub like this nearer to us so we could go every day!

Excellent food on every occasion I've visited with family and friends. Plenty of choice. Time is taken to go through options for those with specific dietary requirements. Attentive, friendly and very helpful staff.

Tried loads of different curry houses in the local area. Tried Jafran and have stuck with it. Amazing food (chicken tikka masala is the standout). Service is great; very friendly staff. Don’t hesitate to give it a try if you’re looking for a good curry, you won’t go anywhere else again.

What a gem! Beautifully presented and freshly cooked food from pasties and steak pies to perfectly cooked steaks and home made peppercorn sauce. There is something for everyone on the menu as well as a ‘specials board’ at decent prices.

Snuggle up next to the log fire on colder days whilst chatting with friendly staff and locals.

The Sunday lunches are fantastic, the best I’ve ever had in fact, with homemade desserts as part of the 2 courses.

Dog friendly with a sun terrace to the rear.

I feel very lucky to have this on our doorstep.

What an absolute hidden gem of a pub. The Boars Head in Tyla Garw completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming and so relaxing. The decor is beautifully done, keeping that lovely traditional old-pub character whilst blending it perfectly with stylish modern touches.

The location itself is stunning too, especially sitting outside listening to the peaceful sound of the water fountain running, such a calming setting for a family meal. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. High recommended .

It’s my second visit but won’t be my last! An excellent mid day lunch for 6 today. An excellent selection on the menu plus a feast of “specials”
I had the Teriyaki Salmon on a bed of noodles which was delicious and I was delighted I was able to tell the chef himself how excellent it was. I followed up with beautiful Lemon Roulade with cream, another winner.
Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meal and, no doubt, we will return.
There is a good size car park at the rear of the pub and on arrival we had a great welcome.
I have no problem scoring them 5 stars and highly recommended a visit.

Best pub in Llantrisant. Great hosts and always good beer. Guest ales are always well chosen. They don't do food, so eat before you visit! The Tuesday night pub quiz is a big attraction.

Parking: You have to park in Swan Street or Gwaun Ruperra.

Great pub restaurant with a lot of choice on the menu.
The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were a party of 8 and we all ate different meals and we all thoroughly enjoyed our choice.

Absolutely cracking chippy!

Popped in for a midweek treat and was met with friendly staff, spotless counters, and that unmistakable smell of proper fish and chips. The cod was golden, flaky, and piping hot, with a batter that sang crunch at every bite.

Chips were chunky, perfectly salted, and not a soggy one in sight. The battered sausages were a triumph with crispy casing and juicy centre.

The Salt and pepper chilli chicken box is amazing was packed a fiery punch and full of flavour. The Curry sauce was rich and warming, perfect for dunking.

A proper local gem. If you’re nearby, don’t miss it!

This is a lovely place. I've been to the cafe a while back for breakfast and came again to the restaurant for an event. Lovely food (tried pizza, pasta and tiramisu), really friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Highly recommend; if I lived closer (and not in the North West), this would be a regular visit for me!

Despite some of the poor reviews for take away, I decided to try it out myself. I went at about 5:30 on a Sunday evening and my order was taken immediately by a pleasant and efficient young man. My fish and chips and mushy peas was ready in literally six minutes. It was £16.75, but the portions were enormous and would easily be enough for three people, so good value. It was very tasty and I will go again, but next time I will ask for the smaller portion size which is £3 cheaper.
