The lady that runs this cafe is so down to earth, friendly, jolly and charming she is worth the walk alone! She is also delightful with children. The rustic homemade cakes are absolutely delicious. As for the tea, well, it puts Betty's tea rooms of harrogate to shame. Big farmhouse teapots with the most delicious crisp tasting tea I have ever tasted. Well what an absolute gem of a place. The staff are wonderful. The owner is absolutely fabulous. Reading some reviews I half expected her to come out of the cafe dressed as Doris day in fluffy mules carrying a rolling pin ? slightly disappointed she wasn't but we didn't get shouted at once. What an absolute joy. A beautiful lake side view with delicious home made cake and sandwiches on artisan bread. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Be careful not to miss the entrance if you're following the lake anticlockwise as the sign faces the other way and the entrance is behind you on the left. They take card payments.
