We booked a table for 8 on New Years Eve hoping for a good Sunday Roast. When we booked, the restaurant was busy but the staff found us a table in the bar area which was a nice place to sit & eat. Despite being very busy and short staffed on the day the staff were very welcoming / friendly & helpful. Service was excellent, and we all really enjoyed the food we ordered. Excellent food coupled with excellent service. I'd like to highlight our server Ellie whom was very polite and cheerful.The rum baba and banana collada definitely being my favourite.Would 100% recommend.
We attended this Sunday to celebrate Thanksgiving, which we would ordinarily do at our mum’s house in London. However this year we couldn’t owing to the terminal cancer diagnosis of my sister. I approached the Star and Garter at my sister’s behest ( they serve the best roasts) with a very large booking that we very possibly would have to cancel last minute and they took this in their stride, buying our puddings for us and a bottle of bubbly to enjoy on them.
