Fantastic local pub! Now under new management and such an improvement from before. It has a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere and is now child friendly. Can't recommend enough if you fancy a drink in a proper local country pub.

Fantastic old traditional pub and incorporating a unique Chinese takeaway that serves the very best in takeaway food, have a pint while you wait sounds mighty good to

I can only comment on the takeaway aspect as I've never sat in the pub for a drink. It does look like a very cosy place to have a drink, though. The takeaway is Chinese, and it's a great place to eat. We've collected and also had food delivered. Delivery can be a bit expensive so we now collect it which isn't too bad. If you collect you can pay by card.

Excellent, comfy cost pub with log fires and a good choice of ales and wines. Friendly welcoming staff make the visits a pleasure.

Awesome local pub! Sharon, Johny, and the whole crew are exceptional at their jobs! We always feel welcome and love the positive vibe here! Excellent beverage choices too. Extra treat is when there is Live Music, Live Rugby matches on, Sunday cheeseboard, and every other Tuesday evening; the fish and chips food truck is there! Fun evening out!

The bar and the guest room that I were both very cold. Not very welcoming. I sat and chatted with a few locals who all commented how cold it was. The owners of the pub wouldn’t allow the fire to be lit. Wow!!! Ian, the barman is first class. He tried his utmost to apologise for the cold temperatures. In the end the locals left. This was five thirty in the afternoon. As soon as I arrived I was told no food was available due to the attached Chinese takeaway closes on a Tuesday. That needs to explained clearly on Booking .Com. I had a great dinner of two bags of cheese and onion crisps. Personally, apart from Ian being a good host this place has a big ‘For Sale’ coming up very soon. Never again.

was told this was the best room - so no point asking to be moved broken lock on the room door - broken window blinds was told b'fast we relaxed and self service - it was very poor and no service no movable showerhead so you get a good soaking whether you like it or not broken blinds poor lighting - apart from when you try to sleep then the green fire exit light is on all night, why is it there , because it was the fire exit/lobby at one stage and they saw no need to remove it tap was not righty tighty if the if you know what I mean Creaking bed - try not to turn over to wake you partner up

It's an old English pub with a Chinese take away twist.
