It’s a regular destination for us on our football visits to the West Midlands and again it was enjoyable with the pies, as always, at their best. Looking forward to our next visit.
We've been here many a time however today's will probably be the last. We didn't have a reservation but we're able to get a table saying how busy it was. We ordered drinks and food pretty quickly. We noted that there were 3 people taking orders and 1 behind the bar, this resulted in drinks being poured then sat at the bar. I've been waiting quite a while to go here and yes atmospheric as expected but the food was a disappointment. Everyone I know had been saying how good the food was so I made a concerted effort to go. My partners carvery was cold and my pie had a flat flaky pastry top. Problem due to the fact I had to wait a lot longer than all the other tables that were coming in and being seated around me and served. The chips weren't great either.
