Superb welcome, delicious food and the Harvey's was drinking well. It's got a lot going for it.

A lovely old pub in a cute village in a beautiful unspoilt part of the Sussex coastline. I have been a few times with my husband, following a nature walk by the sea. This is since I discovered Chidham by starting work in the area. I have always struggled a little with their menu. I have been vegetarian for a long time, but I also have an intolerance to cheese, so I am seeking out the usual vegan option. I have also previously asked about milk alternatives in coffee - they had none. This time, as previously, I decided to request the gammon/egg/chips (& peas) without the gammon. Last time, this was done with quite good grace, an extra egg but no price reduction - but everything was cheerful. This time, my husband possibly over-explained my nutritional requirements when ordering. He was met with an icy stare from the chef. My food came, an extra egg and some chips. No peas. My husband went in to try to get vinegar, was promised some would be brought out. None came. The plates were cleared without a word of asking how our meal had been. Clearly this pub doesn't want or need my business. They won't get it again.

Visited as a couple for Sunday lunch. The pub itself is just lovely - a proper old pub tastefully decorated. Ordered the nut roast and roast chicken. The portions were very generous. The food was very good -not outstanding - but very good and the service was excellent. The meal was served quickly and requests for extra gravy accommodated without fuss. A good pub lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed very much.
A very warm welcome on a very wet Sunday last week. Really cosy, lovely staff and a delish roast! Of course dog friendly.

Booked ahead for my birthday with 20 people, so we took over most of the pub! The service was fantastic and a great choice of food for all. Would recommend, especially as there are many nice walks to get there.
