We were staying at Premier Inn Gatwick north and it was packed. No chance of a table in the restaurant, so luckily we opted to go next door to the Sofitel Brasserie. What a great choice, it was calm, spacious and the food and wine were excellent. Service is top notch, we were seated by the charming Mr Muhammad Bilal and our waitress Nikita was attentive and delightful. Highly recommended to get away from the hustle and bustle.

The hotel is ok. Location obviously good for early flights from Gatwick. The “French” restaurant is woeful. Food was terrible. Service was equally bad.

Would just like to thank Oscar for being an amazing FOH. Professional, friendly and managed to fulfil an unusual request!!! Thanks Oscar.

Everything about our meal in La Brasserie was perfect. The location was elegant, the staff were attentive and charming, the food was delicious. We had two different appetizers (the pork cheek and the duck confit) and both were excellent. We both had the same entree, the bouillabaisse, which was not at all the traditional fish soup dish we expected, but rather a modern deconstructed version, still delicious and with greater eye appeal. Sadly, we were too full for dessert! Thank you Sofitel.

The brasserie bar is relaxed tranquil and the bar service is excellent, we did not eat in the brasserie but the food looked good. We decided to eat in the formal restaurant, we did not have a reservation but managed to get a table without a problem.

Even though the reviews were bad it was actually worse than expected. I would highly recommend eating before you arrive at the hotel. The staff were sweet but the food was bad and the wait times were even worse.

The service and staff are wonderful, the food is indelible. Smoked salmon sandwiches with lush, thick slices of oily salmon on bread slathered in margarine, spicy ndjua pizzas, with no spice and bases indistinguishable from chipboard. Just truly, truly awful food. Order a takeaway to be delivered!

1 Dirty/sticky tables 2 Given a table that wasn’t ready 3 Serving staff piling trays up so that the cutlery kept falling on the floor. 4 Asked for coffee but received tea 5 Ran out of food on the hot plate 6 Ran out of fruit juice glasses and slow to replace 7 Lack of staff

We had the most fabulous meal here the eve of March 17th 23. The food was really nice and well presented. The service was excellent, and can I just add an extra thank you to Samim, who was so attentive and friendly, nothing was any trouble and all done with a smile. He really is an asset to the hotel ?. I was celebrating that night, so we had 3 courses, plus wine, coffee and whiskey. Calamari to share as the portion is more than generous, Steak with all the trimmings, and rack of pork ribs for hubby, apple galette with caramel sauce and clotted cream and my husband had cheese board with crackers, celery, grapes followed by coffee??. Thank you for making an overnight stay before flying to Andalusia a really special night.

I have stayed at the Sofitel many times and drunk in the La Brasserie bar every time i've visited. The bar itself is lovely but the night i was there, the service was unbelievable slow. The waiter did apologise but 20 minutes is too long to wait for a beer.

Clean and spacious restaurant. Excellent choice of hot, cold, healthy, fruit and cereals. Great service and a great way to start the day.
