My family bought all our bread from The Model Bakery from the time Mr. Fridley and his wife began baking, back in the 1970s I think. The white oven-bottom and brown tin loaves were our staple. Delighted the shop is still there.
I did not notice this bakery. A fellow student introduced me to it when I attended Steyning Grammar school between 1989-1991I thought that the staff here was friendly and efficient! I was always asked what I would like in my sandwich (given choices with suggestions made). I felt that the service here was brilliant!

So glad to find that good old fashioned decent bread is still made, two shops in steyning keep this alive and kicking, great bread, I would rather go there than convenient rubbish bread you get anywhere else.
