Great if you want to taste an excellent Pie... Good selection of beer... Attached to Huddersfield station and opposite St George's Square... Low prices and a true authentic English pub atmosphere! I recommend it to have a pint alone or with friends!
Lunchtime at the Head of Steam was quieter than I thought it would on a Tuesday. So the atmosphere was quiet. Which might be what you are looking for. It's right on the railway station with taxis and buses but pay parking at the bus station so no excuse about difficult or inconvenient to get to.It's a proper pub, pub. I was surprised at how much this pub had changed from the last time I visited.There was plenty of choices with real ale. They claimed a choice of 18, but I didn't see more than 12 pumps.The food was Pieminster, which I've found to be poor in the past, but this was good fare.Will visit again!
