Leeds has an amazing fish section in the market, full of fresh fish, big enough to rival a more exotic Mediterranean town. Ramsdens is just one of a line of fishmongers. It has whole fish and parts of fish all laid out on ice for you to properly gawp at and choose which to take home for your tea (that's supper or dinner to the Southern folk in case you didn't understand). Not to be confused with the late great fish and chip empire, run by a chap called Harry, Ramsdens also sell fish, just not of the cooked variety. I put the smell of most markets down to the fish section, and what would it be without one! Whether you love it or it just makes you want to gag, I find looking at the raw selection of water creatures absolutely fascinating.
