This hotel is amazaing, am would love to stay there anyting time. If you looking for a place to spend the hoildays, you dont have to look no far. The staff are great and treats you like royal. Shout out to Mark.

Only 3 good points about my stayThe staff were very good, breakfast and the bed was clean and comfortableWe booked a prestige room but decided to downgrade as prestige rooms don’t have baths in, which I wantedThey still charged us for prestige room even though we had a basic double room without the added extras that come with a prestige roomThe room was very small and decor tiredOnly two plug sockets in the whole room neither by the bedCurtains missing hooks so hanging off the trackWas set up for a single person had to ask for more towels and an extra cupThe bathroom was quite frankly grim, needed a complete refurbishment, the bath taps were all brown dirty and full of lime scale, the seal round the bath coming away, exposed pipe work from under the sinkWe went to the restaurant, very basic menu, £15 for a stone baked pepperoni pizza when it came 15 mins after we ordered I was shocked to be looking at a £3.75 Chicago town stuffed crust pizzaAlso ordered was a chicken makhani and the sauce was like waterDon’t use the restaurant save your money and go out to eatBreakfast was a buffet style lots to choose from but not worth £17.95 each!All in all £125 a night plus breakfast, not worth it one bitMaybe we were unlucky with our room but I won’t ever stay here again stay out of room 204 xx

Absolutely beautiful place. Food was great. Staff were delightful and helpful and go above and beyond to ensure our stay was relaxing. Perfect location as well for exploring the surrounding A1 and Leeds. Looking forward to returning.

I’m a self proclaimed chef, so everytime I go to a restaurant the food quality has to do it for me. And all I can say is, well done Mecure Wetherby. It takes a lot to make this lady happy , the food plus our stay this week has been amazing. My husband is still talking about it haha! Well sized rooms, very clean ,great location. Lovely stay !

Stayed here over Christmas and we loved it- the hotel had a really nice feel to it and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very nice and lots of choice. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Thank you for making Christmas feel that much more special

Dated, shabby, overpriced and the breakfast looked like it was reheated from the previous morning. I also didn't feel overly safe with the number of foreign gentlemen randomly wandering about. Only good thing about this place is the proximity to Wetherby - a 5 minute walk.

I use the Mercure weekly for meetings and occasionally overnight stays. The staff are always so warm and attentive which makes it feel like a home from home. Mariano in the bar is excellent and the duty manager surely takes care of his guests.
The hotel has 2 good points - friendly staff and a comfy bed.I was disappointed that, on arrival, my room had no tea bags, no tv remote, and the phone didn’t work.My room was very tired - particularly the bathroom, which had badly stained grout and walls.Breakfast was a shambles on my last day. It was supposed to start at 7am, but by 7.20am much of the breakfast was not ready for diners, the waitress was moving pastries onto the trays with bare hands, and someone was being shouted at in the kitchen!This hotel really lets down the Mercure brand - I’ve never had a negative experience in a Mercure hotel before.

Staff are friendly and helpful, but that’s where the positivity ends, this hotel is very tired and very dirty, the food was atrocious too, £15 for scampi and chips! £10.60 for two pints of lager. Electric sockets hanging off in the room, floor tiles cracked and raised, leaking shower, horrific sealant work, bathroom light held together with insulating tape! 1 coffee pod for two people! This hotel could do with being shut down for a refurb. Would never stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights on horse racing weekend. Seven in our party had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast good. Staff very good. Manuel couldn't have done more for us very professional

Like a stay at faulty towers! On arrival it took 20 minutes for someone to arrive at reception. Although she was very apologetic! The room… classic twin. Classic in the 1980’s! Layer of dust on the TV and units. Beds were ok; clean at least! The rest of the room had stains, scuffs and unpainted filler. The bathroom… should have been condemned. The bath was on a platform so you had to haul yourself into it. The shower appeared to be missing the temperature dial but a cold shower is good for the skin right? Exiting the shower I nearly broke my neck from the height. Need a warning sign and a step ladder. The skirting boards were a health hazard; not really sure what all the debris was that hadn’t been cleaned off… limescale and rust on everything. Hot tap just dribbled. 2 plugs in the whole room. The chairs felt like they were ready to collapse. Turned the radiator off due to it being so warm however radiator continued to be burning hot. In the morning upon opening the curtains was delighted to see the view, and the black mould. Great for an asthmatic! Oh, and did I mention the fire alarm going off at 10 pm. Not a test…

Great location for the town and racecourse but the rooms are in need of a deep clean and update. I would not get in the shower so a good thing we only had the one night there. No complaints about the breakfast
