Having seen one of the photographs showing 9 ales on tap we came here. With some pubs there might be photographs with a good selection on and when you go, it's quite the opposite. We arrived and weren't disappointed. 3 "black country brewery" ales on tap plus Salopian Lemon dream, 2 ciders and another few ales. Also plenty of bottled ales (and cold draught taps of various lagers). We went for black country pig on the wall (a nutty brown ale) after spending a few minutes trying to decide. Perfect serve and it tasted like it had been well kept. A fair enough price too (£3.60 a pint....ish).Dog friendly, some friendly locals, staff were friendly and welcoming. A nice enough traditional interior and space outside in the beer garden (plus parking spaces next to the pub).We didn't have food on this visit, just a quick pint, but next time maybe. When in the area again I'll be back and no doubt there will be another cracking selection of ales on tap to try. Hopefully next time there will be black country plum porter. A good all round pub and well worth a visit (my pug enjoyed it just as much).

We stayed 2 nights 11th & 12th August as my niece was getting married at Avoncroft museum. After we arrived late Friday afternoon armed with directions we strolled down to Avoncroft which took max 10 mins. On our return we spent the evening in the bar trying some of the ales & talking to Gary the manager & some of the very friendly locals. The room was perfect very well presented & clean with a lovely walk in shower. Breakfast cooked fresh each morning was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay the staff were friendly & helpful especially the manager Gary & deputy manager Helen. Thank you to you both for making it such an enjoyable stay. We will be back to have a pint or two with you soon.

We're lucky to have a traditional real ale pub as our local, and I must say, it's an absolute gem. There's a great selection of real ales, ciders and a relaxing fireside atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding after a long day or on a rainy day. Gary, Helen and the team always make you feel at home with their friendly and attentive service. Gary is a remarkable chef and really knows his way around the kitchen. His scotch eggs are out of this world, and his Sunday roast meat cobs with roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and real ale gravy are divine. They also offer a variety of meal options and theme nights throughout the week, including fresh bar snacks and quiz nights etc. Prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for a cosy pub with a good choice of real ales and ciders, a welcoming fireside atmosphere, and delicious food, look no further. Gary, Helen and the team have created the perfect local pub.
