This Monday 6 of us enjoyed a Christmas meal at the Ewe and Lamb. It was my 3rd Xmas lunch this year and the whole experience was the best yet. The food was wonderful - generous portions and a really creative turkey meal with gourmet bubble and squeak, ginormous pigs in blankets, topped with the nicest carrot you could find - I should’ve photo’d the meal - extra gravy and bubble and squeak for free and excellent and quick service from great waitresses. We booked last minute whilst in the area. We were not disappointed. Roast beef and first day of turkey dinner. Meat was cooked to perfection, vegetables were plentiful and good variety. Could not resist Christmas pudding for dessert.

We had a lovely lunch. We all chose the set menu which was good value at £20 for two courses and £25 for three. We chose different starters - the Asian beef salad was particularly good - and then all went for the sea trout for the main course which was absolutely delicious and beautifully cooked. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for desserts. Nice, relaxed venue with comfy sofas and dog friendly too. Service was a bit haphazard but fortunately we weren’t in a hurry.
