I've used this pub on and off for more than 50 years. It remains a local pub, very individual and, happily, not part of a chain. This time we came as a party of eighteen for a family Christmas gathering. To assist the kitchen, we had already pre-ordered our meals. The welcome was warm, and the tables were ready for us. First visit by us, taken by friends who have been there many times before. It was a very busy Sunday lunchtime, we all ate the carvery - which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for drinks or deserts to be delivered. And all at a very good price. Would certainly be back and wholeheartedly recommend it.

Had a lovely meal from the Christmas menu .. 10/10 … very tasty and nice and hot. Had the turkey then the Bakewell pudding with custard. Plenty of it … you won’t leave hungry ! Also highly recommend the steak and mushroom baguette (always have that for a lunchtime snack)
