NO WAY IS TOM KERRIDGE WORTH IT COMPARED TO HERE. Everything about the experience was absolutely wonderful. Amazing service, incredible food and wine. Please go here. We had the misfortune of going to the hand and flowers pre Xmas. It was double the money and average at very best. I call foul on Michelin for retaining Tom Kerridges two stars and robbing these guys of theirs. Absolutely the opposite should be the case. This is a destination venue, go out of your way to dine here.
I visited The Woodspeen with my husband and son. What a treat. We were welcomed by smiling, friendly staff. Once taken to our table, our drinks orders were taken giving us time to ponder over the menu. My husband and son decided to share the beef wellington. Our first time here and it will not be our last. Superb service, exceptional food and wine. I had mackerel and beef and Rick had goats cheese and Sea Bass. Rick had cheese and PX and we had the shared tarte tatin with a tokay. I picked a premier cru Santenay for our wine. Absolutely delicious.
