Had a wonderful, memorable meal here on a recent stay. We were well looked after by staff. The menu and the wine list is varied and enticing. My friend and I shared the smoked salmon with cucumber jelly and prawns to start; the prawns were divine (however no finger bowl). For main we both had the lamb rump; which was cooked to perfection, tender and flavourful. Service was the redeeming factor here. Everyone was very accommodating and they prepared a nice dessert for my girlfriend’s bday. Food was another story. Flat iron steak to share burnt to a crisp when asked for rare. Using a wedge of meat thicker at one end than the other. Need to change this in method of preparation. We won’t eat here again. When I mentioned it was tougher than old boots I got an “apology and mention to chef.” Not really what you’d expect for £50....read full review

The restaurant is - simply - outstanding. The menu is short but varied, And all 6 of us enjoyed the ambiance, service and, not least, the delicious and well presented food. The Shepherd's Pie and Chocolate Nemesis particularly appreciated by our youngest guests. And I thought the seasonal greens (a side dish) exemplified the chef's skill. Of course, the wine selection is excellent too,
