We arrived at 6pm and service was already in full swing, as we entered Chris stopped and greeted us. Booking availability was tight, as we hadn’t booked, im prontu,but no problem as Chris found us a lovely window table. Took advantage of wine and food discount. An excellent evening with great food and wine served by well trained and professional staff. I had the homemade steal pie and cannot rate it too highly and being from the North am an expert on meat pies. Stacked with steak in a rich gravy and accompanied by crisp vegetables. A real treat, well done chef. The pub has a large easily accessible level car park and we parked readilyin our motorhome. We shall return. Highly recommended.

Really well.placed short drive from M4, ideal for a longing relaxing stop rather than services, especially with a young baby. Great food, lots of choice and very reasonably priced.After our meal we took a footpath opposite the pub for a walk around a beautiful lake.
