To dear Jo and DinehIt's rare that I get to go out, as I'm disabled. However whenever I do get to go out, it's always to this bar for bottomless brunch. I bring everyone I know here. You make me feel really special and important. It's how I've always thought going out for dinner or cocktails should be, but never is. You are different from the rest. You start with kindness and service and treat people like VIPs. You're very special and I'll continue to come here. In fact, I'm coming today to introduce someone new to you! Thank you. Monkey Lounge

Was suggested to go to the Monkey Lounge and it didn’t disappoint, first time and made to feel very welcome, excellent service on the bar, especially from Jonny, Tammy and Marcus!Definitely worth going to.

Miller & Carter Oracle

I visited miller and carter oracle on the 20th March for a spot of lunch from the lunch set menu, and from the second i walked in the front door i could tell it was going to be incredible, from the service i recieved from the man at front door, to the atmosphere and interior, i was seated and went on to recieve some of the best restaurant service ever from Marco, you were amazing Marco, so helpful and accomodating, i have nothing bad to say about your service Marco so thankyou very much and keep up the great work.As for the food, yet again, nothing bad to say, portions were great, and the taste was amazing, i ordered the salt and pepper calamari, signature steak sandwich and ice cream and sorbet (coconut sorbet highly reccomended) all from the lunch set menu for about £20 which was an amazing deal especially considering the portion sizes.So overall, my visit was incredible, phenomenal service from Marco, delicious food and all in all wonderful atmosphereI will definitely returnThankyou Marco miller and carter

Excellent food, really friendly service. Particularly liked its use of fresh, quality ingredients, even the corn chips tasted fresh. Generous portions too. We ate in but would be great as take away. I look forward to eating here again.

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant! We came across it by chance and we didn't know much about the Mauritian cuisine before. The food was very very good and I would definitely recommend trying out this restaurant! The restaurant owners and chef were welcoming too?? Would definitely recommend!

Back again, as always out standing food, once you taste the fresh nam, the papadums great crisp to them. Bombay potato just right. The main meals so fragrant, 3 dimensional in taste, once you know you know. Never had a better Indian takeaway. If you’re looking for the authentic taste you can do no better. Lord Choseley and Viscount Bridgman highly recommends this establishment?

A friend of mine took me to this place today with her little one. She highly recommended it and suggested going for the Chicken and Waffles.On entering the establishment, there were plenty of cooked breakfasts floating around, a nice amount of people and a great buzz in the air with individuals enjoying their food.We were seated very quickly, food was ordered and before we knew it, food had arrived.I had never had the buffalo sauce that they had created however, I would now highly recommend this. I also had a new Kit Kat milk shake that they have just added to the menu, which hit the spot with the chicken and waffles.The staff were attentive and very kind towards the small human that was with us and spoilt him with some attention and a biscuit before our departure.The food was reasonably priced for a cafe and I would definitely go there again if the occasion called for it.Thank you and please keep up the great work!!

Everything was delicious! This time I got all different things than I’d usually get and it was all great! Iced coffee with condensed milk is 10/10, and I got king prawn curry soup which was like a hug in a bowl!Our server Zuzana took such great care of us, she made us feel like family!Totally marvellous!

Butt Inn

My partner and I booked last minute, as the other pub we planned to go to wasn't serving food. I rang ahead and managed to secure a table. From the start upon arrival the service was second to none. Our hostess was so welcoming and attentive. We sat down for dinner and enjoyed our starters, which were beautifully presented, and very filling. After a short break our mains were delivered. I simply can't fault the Chicken Schnitzel that I very much enjoyed, and my partner loved her steak and ale pie (which I was fortunate to have a little sample of, the beef was beautifully cooked and the pastry was spot on) we finished the evening with a lovely cheese board that was beautifully presented. Food wise 12 out of 10, service 11 out of 10. The Butt Inn really has a winning formula, and I'm looking forward to dinning there again.

Bloody amazing! Called to order a takeaway at 5pm and it was ready and collected by 17:20.Food was fantastic and everything tasted perfect, can’t fault it at all. Been struggling to find a decent Indian restaurant for the last few years.. definitely found the one I love now! Would highly recommend ??

We had an excellent lunch enjoyed by my two colleagues and I. Although it was busy we were Served by the lovely Taylor. I can Highly recommend the Dirty Burger. Tastes a lot better than it sounds. Popped in as I was on a business trip. This restaurant is situated along with a number of other bars and also a cinema. Food was excellent and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful night on 23 march , 2024 . We came to see Abba for our hen party. The food and and service was excellent . Staff came to find us as as we hadnt arrived at the start of the show. Unfortunately had to leave before the end of the show as we had to catch the last train home. It was an amazing night.

The Staff here are, friendly, polite and always helpful. I've been using the shop daily for the past 14 months. Dhiren, does a very good job he's always welcoming and willing to help. The only inconvenience, has been during delivery times, when the till resets. Other than that, it's always a pleasure to use the services provided. The five stars are for all of the staff.

Shell Garage on the Basingstoke Road is a handy pit stop. Just before you join Junction 11 this is the last minute fuel stop before travelling the M4. The station itself was recently fully rebuilt. It has an electric charging point and air machines (tip these are behind the actual shop). Inside there are 3 Costa coffee machines along with a good Jamie’s sandwich selection and hot food counter. There is also a decent selection of beer and wine (extra handy in the middle of the night if you have run out of beer!). Obviously delegated driver only never drink and drive. Nice clean store, large forecourt, parking and coffee and food. Also an Amazon locker and a cash machine. Can’t go wrong really.

A recent convert to Macdonalds. Haven't been for years. The Reading restaurant near J12 is very good. Fries, a salad, tea or coffee with a McChicken sandwich is my preference.

Here you can see that only traditional family businesses can offer this unique atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed the great service from a wonderful lady. In times of crisis like these, an evening with these Meat Pies gives you peace and security :)

What a find! I had a fantastic sourdough toastie and a lovely decaf latte. Great menu and lovely service. My only regret was not buying one of their cakes - next time!

Local Middle Eastern Delight - If Middle Eastern flavors tickle your taste buds, this food truck is a must-visit. I've been a regular customer ever since they introduced their Falafel and Grilled Halloumi wraps to Reading.While others have jumped on the bandwagon, trying to replicate these offerings, none quite match up. The taste of their Falafel and Halloumi takes me back to the Levant; it's hard to find anything similar elsewhere.The service is friendly and accommodating, even during their busy lunchtime and weekend rushes. In the summer, the queue can get pretty long, often filled with returning Arab tourists, which speaks volumes about their authenticity.Their standout items are the 'Challoumi' (a blend of Chicken and Halloumi) and the 'Falloumi' (a mix of Falafel and Halloumi), both truly delicious. Most of their menu is prepared from scratch, a rarity at their price range.As a local option, they provide great value for money and easily outshine other grab-and-go spots in Reading.

You Me Sushi

I’ve eaten in and ordered for takeaway and the miso aubergine was the motivation to write this review. It was so balanced- sweet but not overly so. Everything I’ve ordered has been delicious from the hot food bowls to the sushi. I tend to order vegetarian sushi so I can’t speak to the seafood but the avocado maki is always fresh. This is ok my go-to for Japanese food.

Have a been here a few times and each time we’ve had exceptional food, in a casual and lively atmosphere Staff are exceptionally helpful and clearly passionate about food, so leave it in their hands to pick a few dishes for you. Really great value, especially with a larger group where you can try a bit more of everything since the dishes were very large.Can’t wait to come back!

I live close to a chip shop which I feel has gone down hill, so I thought I'd try the Lemon Plaice as it's always had a good reputation. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, not too greasy, lovely crispy fish, definitely the best I've had in Tilehurst. Chips portion size weren't the biggest, but they were enough. The man and lady were lovely to talk to, which makes a change from many places where the staff don't speak. I'd definitely return.

Cakesburg Premium Cake Shop

Purchased the Premium Fresh Berry Cake. Contacted Cakesburg on a Friday and cake was ready to collect Saturday morning. Opened the box and was very happy at the finished product. It was fresh, not too sweet and delicious! Fabulous customer service. Will definitely buy again.

Workhouse Coffee

No plug sockets that work and I couldn't find a WIFI password to work from my computer, but oh my lord, the lad who works in here is a GEM, singing along to tunes, friendly and positive. He was singing along to get the party started by p!nk, and then followed by wicked game by Chris Isaak. Big vibes. Thank you for making my afternoon sir. Tasty Greek Souvlaki

Came here for lunch nad really enjoyed it. We ordered the 3 dips starter of taramasalata, spicy feta and hummus but they'd run out of the taramasalata so we had 2 hummus. Hummus was lovely but wish we'd ordered 2 of the spicy feta!we all had kebabs and again the food was very good. Will definitely come here

Sonning on the river Thames is a wonderful location. This is an iconic restaurant that we’ve driven past for more than 20 years. We have just had a wonderful experience and lunch. Yes it’s expensive but it’s an amazing experience. Great food and wonderful old fashioned service. We loved it and will go back. Don’t wait as it’s up for sale. Go and try it now ?♥️

Banh Mi QB

Popped in for lunch on the recommendation of a friend, and am delighted. Had the papaya salad and vegetable spring rolls. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the atmosphere peaceful and relaxing, despite the fact the restaurant was busy with the lunch hour. There is so much more on the menu to explore, so I will definitely visit again when passing through Reading. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Browns Reading

We went there on late Sunday afternoon after shopping in Reading. It was practically empty and yet a lovely atmosphere. Staff were good and pleasant. Food good, but we had to wait ages for our desert and is was as if they were very busy at all and we had to remind them of our order. Lovely atmosphere and food, bit service very slow.

I've spent many a Friday afternoon/evening here.A great local pub very close to the train station can get in and out within 40 mins if you have a gap in your train journey or a delay.The beer is always well kept and always a great selection. Usually 6 cask and 6 draft with a number of cans behind the bar.Also does a number of tap take overs and events. Also had the RWC on which made for a good watching location last weekend.

Whittard of Chelsea Reading

Our experience at Whittard in Reading was excellent, the store manager was very approachable and helpful and Lauren impressed us with the knowledge she has about tea. She was also very friendly and open to answer all of our questions and offered us some delicious tea to try. We left very satisfied with our bags full, thanks to Lauren’s recommendations based on our preferences. We will definitely go again and would 100% recommend it to anyone interested in quality tea and a lovely experience!

MOMO 2 GO

We got the fried and the kohl veg Minos. They were all quite good. We did prefer the fried mojos the sauce is incredible! The johl Momos were good as well. Would recommend getting a couple of different dishes not just the Momos cause although they’re good it does get a bit samesy if you get the same filling. The service was amazing ethyl we’re very kind the atmosphere was great!Vegetarian options: Minos

Guru Tandoori

Fantastic and extremely tasty. My first time using them and I shall certainly be going back every time I want a delicious curry! The naga lamb wasn't as hot as other naga curries I've had, but the flavour more than makes up for that. You can really taste the fruitiness of the naga chillies without it blowing your head off - I do like it hot. I'll try their phall and jalfrezi next and see how hot they are. Delivery was fast, even though I'd been given an adjusted delivery time, they still arrived well before the initial delivery time I was given. The text sent to let me know they were on the way was an unexpected surprise, and the delivery driver was very friendly.

Often overlooked this place on the way to work. But really like it now I’m inside. Very spacious and good layout. Good selection of merchandise. Also have high chairs so good for families. Have charging points very handy. Everybody chilling. Staff look good in green aprons with Starbucks logo. Very friendly and helpful staff. Helped me a lot with my coins. Music really good. Table and chairs nice.,very clean. Good visibility from windows. Ambient lighting. Good screens. Smiley staff. Good selection of food but nothing slimming world friendly. Unless you use lots of syns. Overall very good place. Would really recommend if in the area.P.s very good place. Good for doing personal admin and meeting people. Nice coffee. Lovely Reading people. What a cracking old school pub, you will struggle to find a better selection of ales, craft beers, or ciders anywhere! Great serving staff and I particularly recommended the ghost chilli sausage roll! Definitely worth the 10-15 walk from the main Reading station.

Amazing takeout experience at Turkish Grill! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the entire process smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend grabbing some of their authentic Turkish dishes for your next meal!

Earley Cafe

Best coffee in Reading by a country mile! A hidden gem. They are absolutely fantastic services that need a lot more praise for the environment they have created. Go and support them however you can.

Great carvery, when you can’t be bothered to spend all day making a roast at home, a carvery does the job. Cheap, choose the meats you want, choose the vegetables you want. I rarely eat a desert, I never feel like I have room for one. Allergy menu available for those who need to avoid things. On today’s visit, the vegetarian gravy was a bit lumpy, but it’s usually good. Kimel Cafe

Lovely café. Food and coffee are excellent. They do toasties, jackets and a great selection of cakes - try the chocolate and almond slices. Room for about a dozen inside on 5 or 6 tables and more tables outside. It's tucked away on a quiet street so quite a find.

Walkabout - Reading

First time visiting The Walkabout to watch the rugby and celebrate a mates birthday! Staff are really attentive, regularly came over to check how we were doing and to remove any empty glasses, they have an excellent range of drinks and the Chicken Wings were amazing. High recommend and will definitely return. Thank you for a fab afternoon!! :)

It was delicious and yummy, especially the firecracker chicken. I enjoyed its authentic flavor. The quantity of the food was good, and it was really worth the price.

Our best local pub , been there multiple times.. best service and good food .. WiFi wasn’t great when I tried for work few weeks back.. good for matches with large tvs and free parking.. staff are always pleasing…

The Alehouse

Great vibe in an olde world style. They do 3 varieties of picked egg (!!!) and perhaps too many ales. Mine didn't keep its head as is often the case when many ales are on offer. Take a look around you and order whatever is popular as it will be of a better standard due to the turn around. Plenty of boxed (probably dangerous) cider. If you're from the Midlands where the ale is top notch it may not come up to scratch but the bartending is great as is the ambient music choice - mostly 70s classics, it makes you want this place to have a pool table. Toilets beyond basic just like in the old days. Old ale badges to gawp at everywhere. Reading would be worse off without this place. On the small side but ideal for a stop off. 2 tables on street for outdoor imbibing.

A quietish mid-week night, beer, pizza and chat with a friend. Young bar staff where really nice folk. Pizza was excellent.Vegetarian options: My goats cheese pizza was Vege', large very tasty and filling.

Presto Pizza

Easily the best pizza in reading, recommended it to all my friends and its become something of a legend. Always great pizza and great portions, personal recomendation is the presto special.

Wee Waif

All the staff were highly accommodating and friendly, especially Anne who covered our party over the few days of our stay. Food and atmosphere in this place is great, would recommend to everyone!
