I use to love it here but the last two time especially today was ridiculous!! No staff 30min from start to finish to buy a few cakes and get change. When returning home to eat the cake the pastry was so soft it was like sponge.not worth the time or money. But i must say i felt very sorry for the poor girl try to make orders for the tables and serve takeaway
I was treated to afternoon tea and it was a lovely experience. We shared a traditional stack of three platters and as much tea as we wanted. Sandwiches of ham, salmon and cucumber with an egg mayo roll - then the scones, jam and clotted cream and then pink macarons, a chocolate sponge and a raspberry sponge. I’m not one to usually complain but it’s disappointing when a place with such nice cakes fails on everything else. The service is the slowest I’ve ever experienced and the waitresses never smile. I saw 3 couples leave after waiting too long to get served in the space of 15 mins. Very poor!!
