We met up with four friends from the USA and decided not to eat at the city centre pub we were previously in due to no heating on a cold January day! Here at the Architect it was lovely and warm, and Paul greeted us warmly too. The menu is a mix of fish and chips on one side and pies on the other. A simple 1, 2, 3, 4 choice of fish, batter, sides and sauce made for a tasty fish chips mushy peas and tartare sauce lunch. We had a birthday lunch here for my mother's birthday. The staff were absolutely amazing, if you needed anything they made sure you got it. The bar lady helped my stepdad with the strange choice of drink he required and the barman plaued my mum's favourite song. The food was amazing, loved the fried gherkins. Definitely recommend the pie yummy. Value for money, great service and lovely location.

Food was outstanding. Both me and my wife had the fish and chips which was great and delicious.The staff were very accommodating and couldn’t fault .and has a nice atmosphere, a good old English pub feel.Will definitely visit again
