The Pheasant

Came here for a Sunday roast a few weeks back. We prebooked and arrived on time.

Upon arrival we were asked if we wanted a drink at the bar or at the table, we opted to have them at the table.

I did ask for a Coke, unfortunately they only had Pepsi, so I had a lager top instead.

There was a good selection of starters, mains and puddings available. We decided not to go for starters, but for mains and puddings.

The mains arrived quite promptly, I went for the roast pork, which was more or less pork belly with roasted veg, gravy and a Yorkshire pudding. It also came with a side of greens.

Overall, the roast was great, although I would've like to have seen more roast potatoes and parsnips on my plate. Another good thing would be to provide gravy for those who enjoy a bit extra, especially when the gravy was as good as it was!

For pudding I went for the tart (I believe it was treacle) but that was nice too, possibly could've done with some sort of sauce or drizzle or something to accompany it and the ice cream, as well as to soften the base which was a little tough.

All our service staff were top notch and couldn't fault them one bit! All were extremely well trained, well presented, and read our group very well.

We'll definitely be returning in the future, but will probably ask for additional roasts and gravy next time.
