If you want some really lovely food in a traditional public house then you will love The Pig and Abbot. The welcome is very warm and the service is excellent but the food is incredible. You do need to book but I cannot tell you how good the food really is. My wife said that the salmon that she had was probably the best salmon she has ever had and we eat out a fair amount. What a find, food was lovely and reasonably priced with generous servings. Felt like à family run pub with a friendly atmosphere. Will definitely return here again! Looking forward to trying Sunday lunch. A big thank you to our waitress too.
We had our Christmas lunch with a dear old friend. The pub is settled in a beautiful rural hamlet. It's a cosy atmosphere and fire places, which were lightened, give real old pub vibes. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and we were very well looked after. We had exceptional beef and stilton pies with red cabbage, french beans, carrots and home made chips.
