The staff are wonderful and the food is fantastic. The roasts are delicious, the deserts are amazing and the rotisserie chicken is excellent!!

10 Market St, Whittlesey, PeterboroughThe George Hotel had a really relaxed vibe about it. Lots of families out having Sunday lunch together in a quiet atmosphere. It was a lovely experience. Plenty of outside seating & a small car park to the rear of the building. Very nice pub. Would happily pop back again.

FRIAR TUCKS OF WHITTLESEY
Lovell centre, 6 Blunt's Ln, Whittlesey, PeterboroughI’m very fussy when it comes to fish and chips, and Friar Tucks in Whittlesey is the only place in the whole of Peterborough that I actually rate. The quality here is simply on another level.
The chips are always light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked—no soggy or greasy bits. The fish is beautifully moist with a crisp batter that isn’t dripping in oil, which is surprisingly rare these days. And the sausages… honestly, they deserve their own spotlight. Whether you get them plain or battered, they’re clearly not the cheap, filler-heavy kind. They’re full of flavour, seasoned with herbs, and genuinely delicious.
A lot of people give Friar Tucks grief for not having the biggest portions, but that completely misses the point—this place is all about quality over quantity, and it absolutely delivers.
There is nowhere else I would go for fish and chips. Friar Tucks is consistently brilliant, and in my opinion, unbeatable.
