We just stopped at Shrub for a hot drink after an unpleasant experience at another cafe. Staff were so welcoming, polite, friendly and helpful. Sitting outside with the lights, heaters, enjoying a nice drink in the wonderful ambience was lovely. Coming back here for our wedding anniversary next month. We're both meat eaters, but super impressed with the food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely recommend!Kid-friendliness: Welcoming to the children.

I never normally leave reviews but I had to give this place and the people the love and recognition it deserves! Everything was 11/10, I love the creativity of how the food is presented and what’s on the menu. Millie our server and Caitlin were both so lovely and welcoming and speedy with service. We came on a busy Saturday without a reservation and they managed to squeeze us in despite how busy it was thanks to Callum. Thanks all team Shrub & merry Christmas x

We came here after a quick Google search for vegan food in Chester. The atmosphere is great. Chill vibe, indoor and outdoor seating, pet friendly. The food tasted nice however the “main meal” portion sizes were far to small. Although the tortellini pieces were larger than a regular size I still only had 4 pieces served.
