Very atmospheric old pub. I decided to take my family instead of struggling to find parking in Leek on December 30. Nearby parking is very cheap. The beer was outstandingly good. Meals were also really nice - not too much. Fried fish absolutely first class. Kids dinner ok with a fruit juice. Ok for small children who'll probably leave most of it in any case. But over 8's I'd order an adult dinner. Lots of different rooms, and nooks and crannies. Even the piano in reasonable tune...read full review

Popped in today for lunch, not been in for a while, hubby enjoyed a hearty portion of sausage mash peas and gravy and I had a lovely homemade curry & rice with chunky chips for only £1 extra, lovely food and friendly new owners. Very reasonable prices, see you next week Ray & Jackie.

Not been to Congleton for years traffic coming in terrible because of road works. Came across this pub they allow dogs inside plus on the counter bowl & containers with fresh water & bonio biscuits ?Food loverly nice selection staff & customers very friendly loverly small quaint historical pub.
