Chester Rd, Helsby, ChesterPopped in for Sunday lunch following a recommendation from a friend. Lovely food, lovely place and very dog friendly seating area, if a bit overcrowded due to popularity. Wasn't a massive fan of the desert but that's personal preference.

67 High St, Tarvin, ChesterLovely pub rooms TV, fridge with bottles of water in it chilling, hairdryer, cloak alarm comfortable king-size bed, two comfy chairs Cupboard the duvet is thinnish but more than warm enough. The shower room was clean instantaneous hot water lovely toiletries 8 bottles. Plenty of ledges for all your tooth brushes etc.
Great choices for breakfast cooked to order very good from really hungry to just something to keep you going, including stack of pancakes with thick bacon and Maple syrup?
All in all highly recommend

The White Lion
Manley Rd, Alvanley, FrodshamWe have been to the white lion many times over the years with family but I wanted to leave a review today due to part of our experience.
Service time, friendliness and attentiveness was actually really good today whereas we have had extremely long wait times in the past and service has not always been fantastic.
The food today was lovely and the standard has been getting better of late.
However, whilst eating my dessert, towards my last few mouthfuls I fished 3 pieces of plastic out of my mouth. I didn’t want to make a big fuss as celebrating a special family birthday and mentioned it to the waitress serving our table. I got a quick apology and was told it was probably just the plastic casing.
Usually in instances like this a manager is then involved and rectifies the situation with a minimum of a further apology, explanation and the dessert in question would be taken off the bill. However it was not mentioned again and the bill was paid in full as our celebration had to take priority.
We were given discount cards to be used by the end of the month but no mention of the plastic and anyone could have got these off the end of the bar as there was a small pile there.
It was just a really disappointing outcome. Finding the plastic in my mouth was horrible but not to have it properly rectified was very poor, and having worked and managed in hospitality know that this is generally not the norm and poor business management.
We travel a long way each time to meet family that are local to the area and finding plastic in my food was far from enjoyable!!
