The Salutation Inn has always been a favourite of mine when we visit Looe. This year we went for the New Year. As usual, the festive decorations make this pub the No.1 place to visit when in Looe at this time of year. It was AMAZING !!! The staff and owner are very friendly and it is quite comforting seeing a few usual faces sitting at the bar having a drink in the evening. This is a really welcoming pub. The log fire was just gorgeous to sit by on a cold, wet January day. The Christmas decorations were so beautiful and clearly took a huge amount of effort to put up but what a great job!! Loved them. The staff are very friendly and run the pub excellently well. The food was tasty, wholesome, plentiful and of a very good quality. The four of us all really enjoyed our meals from scampi, hotpot, ham salad and ham, egg & chips. What a fabulous pub. We called in for a glass of wine as we had eaten a late lunch in Fowey. We decided we would like snack so ordered two starters. The lady recommended the squid which was out of this world. I had prawn cocktail which was fabulous. We have just taken a seasonal caravan touring pitch at Trelay caravan park so I expect this will now be our local go to pub when we are there!
