Pubs • “Lovely pub to dry off next to the roaring fire, especially as it's now got the Christmas decorations up! Serves the wonderful Goulash that has made the Dog & Gun a must visit location when in Keswick. When we discovered that pub was closed for refurbishment we had to make a trip to Ambleside to get our fix of Goulash. Nice selection of local beers.”

Pubs • “After a slight mishap with the starter (very quickly resolved by the staff), the food was amazing. I had the half chicken and the meat just fell off the bone. Beautiful. My partner had the chicken pie and there were enormous chunks of chicken in it. Would definitely come again.”
Pubs • “So much choice of restaurants in Ambleside, but choosing the Tap Yard was easily the best option we could of chosen. Food was absolutely delightful, Beer was exceptional and customer service couldn't of been better. All round an amazing experience, we shall definitely be returning.”
Pubs • “Grace the lady who was both the bartender and matredee was absolutely amazing. Full of life and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were great too, spacious, comfy beds and the towels and linen freshly laundered. Food was served quickly, hot and very tasty indeed. We will return and will definitely book our next stay here.Parking: Limited parking.”
“Booked a table and glad we did as it was very busy and fully booked (7pm). Server forgot to let us know it was table service (the menu says to order at the bar) and no specials were mentioned until we checked but this was minor and to be fair it didn’t spoil our visit but do ask for the specials menu if you don’t get one. The food came quite quickly and was delicious. It was fresh (the side salad was so good!) and really tasty. We ordered the lamb and feta burger and the mushroom, tahini and spinach burger. Both were served in crusty rolls and the fries were skin on and salted. Even though the portions were big, hubby still had room for the sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream. It was sublime, super rich and dark and one of the best I’ve tasted (yes I got a spoon too!) The atmosphere is relaxed and at night, the fairy lights in the window make it look super cute. The menu itself isn’t extensive but what they serve is so good, we’ll definitely be returning.”
