We visited this bar a couple of times during our stay in Grasmere. The bar staff were friendly and chatty, and we liked the ambience, but at the wine prices charged here, we would expect better wine glasses (they look like they have come from Poundland!)
I never write reviews but we’re on our way back from the Lakes and we can’t stop thinking about the pizza & nachos we had for lunch here. After waiting 15 minutes at another pub to be served then being told they weren’t serving hot food until 1pm (random!), we mooched on over to 1769. We’re chuffed we did as it was reasonably priced, delicious food and lovely service. Cheers m’dears!
Such a lovely friendly place would definitely recommend this bar . We were in Grasmere 3 days and went to this pub 2 nights . Never had food but it looked lovely when people around us were eating .
