We had such a wonderful meal here. We hadn't booked but were welcomed and shown to a table straight away. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and create a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the 'pie of the day' which was Steak & Mushroom which came with gravy and mushy peas. It was amazing even down to the gravy!! It was so good!! What with the lovely food, the twinkly lights and the cosy atmosphere we will definitely be returning.
Came for the 4 course NYE menu and can’t fault it. Service was good. Food all correct to what we ordered in advance and all really tasty. Thought it was great value for money and our dog was welcome so we didn’t have to leave her in the hotel.

Lovely place in the heart of Ambleside, they have a lovely wood burner which was great to sit in front of for most of the day to be fair as the weather was horrendous. Friendly staff, good food and a decent selection of drinks on offer. One of our must visit places when in the area.Vegetarian options: A reasonable selection of Vegetarian options and I think there were some Vegan ones too.
