Fabulous restaurant! Visited for my birthday last night. Warm welcome, served by a lovely passionate lady who knew the menu so well! The food was delicious. The special cocktail was excellent too. Nice to see such a wonderful menu...so difficult to choose. Thank you. We will return.

Excellent food with great service. Small restaurant but definitely the best I have been to in Grasmere and it is many years since I have enjoyed a meal as much anywhere in the Lake District. We had the special starters. Crostini were wonderful and the starter portion tortelloni was excellent. My wife had hake which was perfectly cooked and I had the lamb which was great. And both were decent sized portions (unlike so many so called fancy restaurants). No hesitation in recommending.

The best food I have had!! We had the cod for starters, 10/10. Stew for main so tasty and the bombalinos (mini doughnuts filled with biscoff) for dessert, they are the best things I’ve ever tasted!! & great whisky selection.

Shout out to Dylan (hope I'm spelling that correctly) what a credit to the team! You can tell they all really love what they do.Good selection of drinks and don't skip on the dessert, also amazing!!

Amazing meal to celebrate my husband's 60th! Staff were so friendly and helpful in a genuine way! They even burst into " Happy Birthday!" together. The food was absolutely delicious! So many different flavours that were so well put together. The lamb was to die for! Thank you for a memorable special occassion - we loved your restaurant!
Incredible food, incredible service. I will always come back here as long as this restaurant is in business whenever I visit this area again. The food was exceptional! The specials menu changes regularly which makes it even more special to me to know they source local produce. The flavours in every dish we ordered, were prepared with so much understanding and love for food from all around the world. This place deserves a Michelin Bib recommendation. No fault to anything here. Service was incredible. Super friendly staff who I felt super warmth from (could be because they are family owned? - I’m unsure). Please visit here if you want to go out for dinner.

We had the best meal out ever, period. Every course .... and the wine. And we've been to all the posh foody places. It's quietly possibly the best Lake District restaurant, but prefers to keep low key fame and declines to enter the Michelin Star performative food circuit. After faltering during Covid trying to find a formula for those difficult times its back on a roll, so if that left you a little disheartened, you won't be now. Chrissy is back in the kitchen and her fusion style dishes are works of culinary delight, with that uniqueness that makes a meal out "different" and appealing, without the over done plate decoration that I compare to a poor opera singer who has to swoop and doop rather than just holding the high like Chrissy does. Service great, fantastic character atmosphere and the unique gentle background music selection is perfect and becoming legendary in its own right.

Looking at previous comments we booked a table to come here for our anniversary meal, while staying in Grasmere and I'm so glad we did.What a perfect family run business, lovely staff, perfect drinks and exceptional food. We shared halloumi and the special dumplings for starters, them for main I had the chicken and my husband had the steak and we made sure we saved room for dessert and shared the deep-fried biscoff doughnuts which are delicious! The good is of high quality ingredients and the love that goes in to the dishes! Thank you for a lovely meal, we will definitely come again if we're in the area. Oh I would also recommend the espresso Martini and the fruit salad mocktail!

Absolutely gorgeous food, great service, good drinks and good value overall. Had a ginger Prosecco cocktail which was fab and the food was just amazing. Really different tastes that work well together. Would highly recommend. Would advise to book.
