Beautiful venue, food and service. Visited to celebrate our birthdays and the place did not disappoint. Nicest food we have had in a long while and service was superb. Hope to be back one day. Had the steak as a starter and lamb for the main. Stunning.

My wife and I have eaten here several times in the past few years when on holiday in Grasmere, and it has never disappointed. We visited Grasmere again four four days very recently and were lucky enough to eat here twice. The service is impeccable (Ross and all the staff are so welcoming), the food is awesome, flavoursome, beautifully presented, and superbly cooked, a real credit to the lady in the kitchen, who really pulls out all the stops. A fantastic atmosphere, quirky, and unusual, just a delight. The specials are always amazing, as is the rest of the menu, and I can particularly recommend the cocktails. The homemade pasta is divine, but whatever you do, please leave room for the bombalina pudding, I can't describe how nice this is, I'm sure their other puddings are just as delicious but for me it is these every time. Booking in advance is a must, as they are a small establishment (although they will try and accommodate if they can). I cannot praise this place highly enough, one of our favourite restaurants of all time. We are back in Grasmere next year, and will again make the most of it with two more visits, of that you can be sure. Thank you to all the staff for a great two nights!!

The Jumble Room is always our first stop when in Grassmere. How sad are we that we book our time away to coincide with at least two visits when the restaurant is open (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) ? Yes, its that good! The twice we visited on this occasion, did not disappoint. Thank you to this lovely family for providing such a welcoming, friendly, fabulous restaurant. See you next year, and enjoy the wedding celebrations!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Delicious food, great welcome and amazing menu. I had beetroot, gnocchi and feta to start which was great and Asian salmon served with pak choi and sugar snap peas. My husband who is coeliac was catered for and offered different options throughout. The couple who own/run the restaurant are so friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I cannot praise this place enough.

A must-visit, hidden in Grasmere. This family-run eatery provides the warmest of welcomes and a fabulous selection of beautiful homemade food and delicious drinks. Very unique dishes, and their specials were divine.

Excellent food and great host. 11/10 on all counts. I had the chicken stuffed with apricot and almonds which was some of the tastiest food I've ever eaten.

Food was lovely. Tried all the specials on the menu that day. Service was very attentive.

We visited The Jumble Room for a family 60th as a table of 6 at 5.30pm sitting. Immediately impressed by the open view kitchen area and homely feel to the restaurant. The decor is fresh, unique and comfortable, it was a pleasant surprise to our party. The staff were perfect, very knowledgable about the menu and seamlessly attentive with their service. The food was the star of the show. Everything was absolutely faultless! Some of the best food we have ever had the pleasure of eating. I can’t rate The Jumble Room highly enough and will definitely be back as well recommending to everyone I know.

If you are in the Lake District, this is a cafe you must visit. We came here years ago and the food and atmosphere was perfect. Now, these years later, nothing has changed, except that the couple that ran it retired and their daughter has taken over with her partner. Friday, Saturday and Thursday are the days that the cafe is open. This is the reason that we have taken so long to get back as it did not correspond with the times we were down. Having said that, we were here now, my partner and I. It was a delight just walking into the cafe a real treat. The atmosphere is informal, warm, welcoming and convivial. The host was charming and friendly. He informed us about what was on the menu and was very knowledgeable about the ingredients of the food being freshly made and served. We shared a halloumi starter. I wish we had gotten one each. Then I had a pasta dish. It was so good, the plate was scraped clean. We then finished off with a dessert. Mmmmm, so, so, good. I overheard other dinners commenting on how delicious the food was. I even heard one couple making a booking for the following night. I would definitely recommend an evening at the Jumble Room. I, for one, will certainly be returning.
It was my second visit and I’ve been waiting to bring my husband here since I first came at Easter and it did not disappoint. Service and food were both excellent. All the food was expertly cooked and thoroughly delicious. We will most definitely be back. Make sure you book your visit well in advance to avoid missing out.

We ate here in Aug. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet side street in Grasmere. We ate upstairs which had a lovely atmosphere and although this isn’t a huge room we weren’t crammed in. All the staff were really helpful and professional (perhaps being a little over chatty at times). Our drinks and food order was taken promptly. Our food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious (we ordered different dishes, I tasted everyone’s). My only criticism is the price, nearly £30 for a mushroom tortellini can’t be justified, no matter the quality. A great meal nonetheless.

Make sure you pre book The Jumble Room as they get busy and I can see why! Very welcoming staff and a great ambience and then there’s the food…I had the daily special pasta as a starter…melted in the mouth. We both chose main of Dithoise chicken which was just divine. Beautifully presented food. Some lovely cocktails too… I had a ginger liqueur Prosecco cocktail as a pud. which finished things off nicely. Thank you Emily and Jumble Room….happy to recommend

I can honestly say that I have rarely had a better meal and service than at The Jumble Room! The miso steak starter was to die for, and their handmade pasta of the day special was just out of this world! We were absolutely stuffed, but after hearing the special desserts on offer we couldn't resist the churros and my goodness they were absolutely divine! A huge thank you to all the staff, Chrissy in the kitchen absolutely smashed but a special thank you to Ross and Emily, they made our 1 year anniversary truly unforgettable and very special indeed.
