“Lovely pub, really friendly service. We had a booking time mix up and they still accommodated us with great flexibility. Food was pretty good. The half cow pie is still big (forget the full portion) though the thick pastry wasn't the best for us. Broccoli was overdone but carrots were perfect. Would definitely recommend.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Proper Local Pub with Heart, History & Great Ale! The Swan Inn in Cockermouth is everything a traditional pub should be — warm, welcoming, and full of character. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine hospitality from the landlord and staff, who clearly take pride in creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere The pub itself is steeped in history, dating back to the early 1700s, and the Georgian street setting adds to its charm. Inside, you’ll find beamed ceilings, a roaring fire, and spotless surroundings that reflect the care and pride of the team . It’s a true community hub, where locals and visitors alike are made to feel right at home. The selection of real ales is fantastic — well-kept and varied, with something for every taste. We tried the Bank’s bitter and a Marston’s ale, both of which were excellent . The prices are fair, and the service is prompt and cheerful. It’s also dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us after a wet walk in the Lakes! Whether you're popping in for a quiet pint, a lively evening with friends, or just a warm place to relax, The Swan Inn is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back — it’s one of the best pubs in Cumbria, hands down.”

“Booked a table for myself and family to eat here today for Sunday lunch.
Food was exceptional, we ended up treating ourselves to starters mains & desserts! (Didn’t get pics of starters as was too tempting to eat first!)
We met the new manager Debbie, who gave us a very warm welcome and herself & the rest of the lovely staff couldn’t do enough for us, catering to the young children we had aswell!
Table was set up with high chairs etc everything was lovely & clean, baby changing and accessible toilets available
We will certainly be back and would recommend for all to try!”

“What a bar, great vibe with the locals. Good beer variety. The new owners are working hard to ensure the food and drink is top notch for all! Dean and Ollie are very welcoming, can’t believe they didn’t have a pub in cockermouth already. Ale Mondays are great as is red wine Sunday”
