“We both had lunch on a Saturday, and came in here because so many places in Cockermouth seemed to be closed. Immediately on entering it had a comfortable, friendly atmosphere and a good choice of drinks, which were very reasonably priced. The menu is varied and looked very good value, but when our food came, it was simply but very well prepared with entirely fresh ingredients and was clearly home made. Lovely juicy cod in a light crispy batter, with chunky home made chips, which were absolutely delicious. Mine was washed down with an excellent pint of Wainrights bitter. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return.”
