The Black Bull is a traditional pub in the centre of Cockermouth. We called in a couple of times during a short stay and were made very welcome by the landlady and locals. Good selections of drinks, including at least one draught ale, and reasonable prices. Clean, comfortable and spacious, it's one of the few pubs in Cockermouth open at the beginning of the week.
We arrived here with our three pooches and received a warm and friendly welcome. Good social distance measures in place. It's clean and organised. The staff were friendly even bringing treats for the three pooches. Two pints of ale & two lagers which were served in correct glasses, crisp & fresh. The land lady was a breath of fresh air, bubbly, friendly and informative. Would go back of we ever return to the area.

Called in for lunch with my son....we both really enjoyed it, really friendly service but not over the top, food was delicious and a nice relaxed atmosphere ?Shame it's so far from home or we'd visit there often!!
