“Such a surprise to find such a gemstone close, so close, to Lake Coniston. And what an amazing place. No wonder Arthur Ransome of Swallows and Amazons fame, stayed here. What history there is to take on - the Batty family and their farm development over the years gone by and to come. The welcome, the food, the coffee (the best around!) and hospitality is so different and yet so memorably of a high standard. We shall take back happy memories to New Zealand.”

“Camped at the Wilson farm for over the weekend.
Pitches not too big but more than enough to park your motorhome or caravan. Busy but not too loud”
“Stopped off for a quick drink. Charming, knowledgeable, patient bar staff, good low alcohol own brewed IPA, lovely spot. Would definitely go back.”

“Lovely dog-friendly cafe, the food was delicious, and the staff were so welcoming they even came over to say hi to our pup with some treats. Loved the dog wall of fame too!”
