Myself and my partner came here today and it’s very rare we’re lost for words. From the beginning the owner was attentive, friendly and made us feel right at home. The food, my goodness. We eat out regularly up and down the country and we’ve not had food like it. Overall the whole experience was a delight, our new fav ‘local’ (about 10 mins drive for us) … no wonder they’ve won award after award. What a find! I had a booking at the Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre and this pub appeared nearby with great reviews so I booked a table. What a lovely place and amazing people. The atmosphere is relaxed, you don’t feel rushed. The staff (and regulars) were very friendly. The menu was explained to us and they also come with an introduction so you can read for yourself. I was spoilt for choice with the menu so I’m just going to have to go back to try some of the other dishes...read full review

Just booked table Sunday morning off chance. Excellent service. Good quality food and beers. Good menu with vegetarian options we had 10 hour slow cooked brisket. With trimmings Yorkshire pudding etc. Good value and ample amount. Desserts looked great. All in all well worth a visit. Welcoming pub Good parking. log fire. nice atmosphere. Dog and child friendly. Not sure about disabled access. But I can recommend it.
