A home-run cafe with homemade cakes. Such a picturesque location with welcoming hosts. We had lemon cake, walnut cake and scones with tea, hot chocolate and juice. Open 10.00-15.00. Not particularly accessible by car so be prepared to park at the top of the road and walk.
We ended up at High Park Farm after quite the climb up from Elterwater. (We're both not exactly super experienced hikers, so it might be a stroll in the park for sportier people.) However, we found this hidden gem overlooking a gorgeous valley with spectacular scenery and were more than thrilled! The lovely owners (and their dog Nip, who runs the show there, let's be honest! <3) offered us tea and cake or scones for a very reasonable price (we paid no more than 6 pounds each...read full review

A beautiful stop to rest and recharge after climbing up from Elterwater and Skelwith Force. Tea and scones were fantastic and the hosts were wonderfully friendly and helpful about things to see on our walk and other parts of the Lake District.
