My wife and I have visited the Old Post Office quite a few times now. It’s our favourite place of all time, rather bold statement! But the friendly atmosphere and greeting from husband and wife team is a delight. Everything is homemade. You feel like a child in a candy shop! The selection of sandwiches, panini’s, soups and cakes are a mouthwatering treat. The beef, relish and Stilton panini, with salad and crisps is month watering. Called in after seeing the good reviews and we weren't disappointed. A little shop was on the ground floor and stairs led up to an olde worlde tearoom. We just had tea/coffee and lemon and blueberry scones which were delicious and beautifully presented. The lady who served us was very pleasant. Managed to park right outside but it was a bit tight even in our smallish car. The Old Post Office, situated opposite the ancient church in Beetham, is a charming place with a little shop as you enter and a lovely little tearoom upstairs. The tearoom is nicely decorated and full of old style charm with painted stone walls, exposed ceiling beams and a warming fire. From the good menu we simply had tea and coffee and shared an excellent lemon and blueberry scone. It was all rather lovely, as was the service, and we highly recommend it.
