“This is our second time for lunch and both visits have been excellent. The staff were exemplary, especially as we had our 9 month old daughter with us. We were made to feel incredibly welcome.Food & drinks: The 3 course lunch is £50 but well worth it if you compare to the standard of food elsewhere. Go on, treat yourself.”
“Staying near to Penrith for a few days we looked around for a place to eat and we chose Four and Twenty and we’re glad we did. On a wet November night we were welcomed into a warm and friendly atmosphere by the staff. We went for the 3 course set menu which was just fine for us. The food quality was excellent and the nice homemade breads before the meal were a nice touch. We left fully satisfied and agreed that we would eat here again when in the area.”
“We arrived soaking wet and were welcomed very warmly by landlord Andy who took our wet clothes for drying and us to our warm and comfortable room, where our bags had already been taken. He continued to be very available and helpful for all the stay and even donated money towards the cancer charity I was raising money for. All the staff were friendly and accommodating and the whole place had a great feeling and ambience. The food was great pub hearty fare and good value. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I would highly recommend!”
“Great pub in a beautiful village. Good beer selection, pool room, lovely food and very pleasant staff. We attend a function upstairs and nipped down occasionally to watch the rugby. Locals were friendly too ;-)”
“Really nice cosy place for a drink, especially if you're into your ales. Visited on a Saturday around 5ish and you could see it'd soon be difficult to get a seat despite having additional room upstairs.Good selection of ales ranging from £4.50 all that way up to £10+ and also had spirit and wine options. The place is dog friendly and the bar staff were very knowledge and helpful. Were even able to provide us with some detail about other places to visit in Penrith.Would definitely recommend it and its ideally situated to go for a takeaway at Just Greek!”
“Had a lovely roast dinner here. Large portions and very cheap. Only draw back was the roast potatoes. They were not cut into halfs or quarters, just full potatoes left to roast. Middle was very bland and dry. Shame as the rest of the meal was amazing”
“I stayed here for 1 night enroute back from Scotland. Arrived just before the restaurant closed and the very attentive staff managed to find me a table for a 2 course meal and a beer. Lovely setting, lovely lounge to sit and read a book and a well appointed room. Excellent veggie breakfast and I was on my way. Great location, great facilities. Highly recommendedFood & drinks: Excellent menu choices.”
“Good food, Berry Sundae dessert is impressive. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and enough of them”
“We make a point come here every time we visit Penrith. We love it. Good menu, huge portions of great grub, sensible pricing, dog friendly, chatty locals, comfortable furnishings and they have a few TVs on if you follow sport. A really easy place to come eat, any time of day.Parking: There's a small free carpark just a few doors up in the market Square, or Sainsbury's is a short walk away you can have a few hours”
“Lovely place! The food was really tasty and well cooked and the service was great too! Can’t wait to be back and try their Sunday roast! ?”
