We arrived soaking wet and were welcomed very warmly by landlord Andy who took our wet clothes for drying and us to our warm and comfortable room, where our bags had already been taken. He continued to be very available and helpful for all the stay and even donated money towards the cancer charity I was raising money for. Only pub in town, but the experience was still really great!! The guy behind the bar was kind and caring, the curry of the day was delicious, and the beer was refreshing. Plus a fun atmosphere!

Party of 6 walkers doing the Coast to Coast Walk. Really excellent stop off, very highly recommended. Good food, excellent beer and hosts who care about looking after you. Drying facilities really useful.
