I visited the hotel with a small group of friends for some relaxation time. The hotel was lovely with friendly staff who were very welcoming especially in the bar where we had a lovely lunch. The food in the brasserie was tasty, well presented and very filling. We used the spa which was excellent. Again the staff were friendly and welcoming. Both me and a friend had treatments with Susie. A bit hit and miss. We had dinner in the pub, which was a lovely space with two roaring fires - very welcoming and dog friendly. Lovely, attentive staff. My husband had a beef and ale pie (which was gorgeous!) and an apple crumble, which also was delicious (lots of crumble - yum!). I had a Camembert, which had to be replaced as it came lukewarm in a cold dish. The second time it was more melted, but still on a cold dish, so I had to eat it very quickly before it hardened! Very much a family hotel, this place is lovely in every way. Clean, large rooms, ample bathroom, great bar food (also a proper restaurant), good ale choice, there is a swimming pool, ample gym, everything was perfect, even the weather.Rooms: Clean, large and comfortable
