24 Swanwick Rd, Leabrooks, AlfretonJust been in I had a small chips and cheese and my mate had a large donner meat and chips with mint yogurt we both struggled to finish they always give you more than what you pay for , you could actually taste the mint sauce but it wasn’t too overpowering, the donner meat tasted fresh straight off the lamb and the chips were crispy and fluffy absolutely phenomenal will definitely be going again every Friday ?

114 High St, AlfretonWe dropped in Star Kebab and Pizza House on the way home on Friday night having been here once before a couple of years ago. The food is still amazing and cooked fresh to order. I had the mixed kebab special and my wife had the chicken and lamb special. To be fair the mixed one would have done for the pair of us as the portions are really good. The service was warm and friendly too. Would 100% recommend and be going back.

The food was wow, firstly it's looks super colourful and the food was exceptional, fish pakora was really filling with full of flesh and you can taste the spices off the batter itself. The Masala chips was really good, pretty morish and I didn't share itwith my partner! The Daligain Masu curry and the pilau rice was sooooooo good and tasty! Highly recommend for a takeaway and I'll next time visit to their restaurant when we go pass it.

I've eaten here many times over the years and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal. I really like the Malaysian prawn curry ( can't remember it's proper name) that Is one of my favourite dishes here. You do have to take your own alcohol though if I'm not mistaken. They will get rid of the glasses or cans for you.

Hall St, AlfretonIt’s always a lovely place to come and see friends or talk to the workers here. They are all very lovely and they are kind. It always seems busy in here which is fantastic because they get quite a lot of regulars come into the cafè.
It’s a fantastic place to bring children because children eat for free on the clubcard which is one reason why people come back to the cafè.
I have always liked the customer service that they offer and they are an Amazing team.
Vegetarian options: There is quite a lot of vegetarian options.
Kid-friendliness: They always make the children feel welcome into the cafè.

I've had 3 orders this year so far and every single one has been very tasty, lots of toppings, well cooked, cheap and quick. I tend to judge a chippy by their Peas. Everywhere gets Fish n chips right, not many get the peas right. Too thin to thick, no flavour, bad colour etc etc.
This place has amazing peas. Exactly how they should be done. Peas Perfection.

The service was very early at Amber Valley Crematorium which we thought would make refreshments difficult but Michelle suggested breakfast Cobs & cake, a great idea which proved very popular with everyone who attended. Communication was great prior to the day, the buffet was spot on and very good value so I would highly recommend the Gate to anyone looking for a venue especially after a service at Swanwick Crematorium due to its location close by. The help and advice provided greatly reduced the stress involved in arranging the wake and was key to making the day run smoothly despite the difficult circumstances. Thank you.

So accommodating, friendly, helpful, supportive, could not recommend this pub enough. I've ordered from here several times and had deliveries (I'm around 3 miles away), collections and just popped in the shop on spec. Prices are reasonable and food is decent. They've always made me aware if there will be a bit of a wait. It's a greasy spoon so your not going to get michelin quality, but for a takeaway breakfast or lunchtime sandwich it's absolutely fine in my opinion. I think there's only once I've been mildly disappointed but even then it wasn't that bad. Not sure if I've just been lucky or if other reviewers have inflated expectations. I know they've previously had issues finding counter staff and drivers but that's an industry thing as a whole at the moment.

Sometimes the fish is a little dry but I think that's always a risk with fish and chips because it depends on how busy they are. Staff are always really friendly and fast, even on busy nights.
