My folks have been going to Mario’s fish bar for a few years now and every time I visit them we go.

You won’t get a better fish and chips in the area, the fish is fantastic and the chips are always perfect!
All the staff are all really really friendly and very attentive too.

They have a lovely restaurant area so we sit there and they have even stated doing dessert cakes now too!!!

We took takeaway for a first-time, the phone connectivity wasn't great but I managed to placed an order and the delivery arrived with accurate order but not to the door number. The food was wow, firstly it's looks super colourful and the food was exceptional, fish pakora was really filling with full of flesh and you can taste the spices off the batter itself. The Masala chips was really good, pretty morish and I didn't share itwith my partner! The Daligain Masu curry and the pilau rice was sooooooo good and tasty! Highly recommend for a takeaway and I'll next time visit to their restaurant when we go pass it.

Had a beautiful mixed grill from here the other week. Massive chunks of meat, well worth the money. Will be going again. I've eaten here many times over the years and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal. I really like the Malaysian prawn curry ( can't remember it's proper name) that Is one of my favourite dishes here. You do have to take your own alcohol though if I'm not mistaken. They will get rid of the glasses or cans for you.

Just been in I had a small chips and cheese and my mate had a large donner meat and chips with mint yogurt we both struggled to finish they always give you more than what you pay for , you could actually taste the mint sauce but it wasn’t too overpowering, the donner meat tasted fresh straight off the lamb and the chips were crispy and fluffy absolutely phenomenal will definitely be going again every Friday ?

The lady behind the bar is lovely her partner is polite but a bit grumpy lol.
It was early Saturday evening there was a few people in but it wasn't overly full.
The atmosphere was ok, not threatening or hostile.
However my mate triggered a behaviour in an elderly intoxicated autistic man who showed us his Jakie Chan moves ?
He de escalated pretty quickly and left.
Apart from that it was quiet.
You can hear the music but you can have a conversation without shouting, which I like now I'm old.
I've also been when it's busy and they're having a disco.
I still felt safe and a positive atmosphere, but now you have to shout if you want to talk
don't get too drunk, be respectful and you will have a good time.
My mate even learnt a lesson ?

We dropped in Star Kebab and Pizza House on the way home on Friday night having been here once before a couple of years ago. The food is still amazing and cooked fresh to order. I had the mixed kebab special and my wife had the chicken and lamb special. To be fair the mixed one would have done for the pair of us as the portions are really good. The service was warm and friendly too. Would 100% recommend and be going back.

Fish was good, hot soft i side & crisp outside- not over greasy.

Chips were fresh hot and fluffy.

Peas were the highlight.
I tend to judge a chippy by their Peas. Everywhere gets Fish n chips right, not many get the peas right. Too thin to thick, no flavour, bad colour etc etc.

This place has amazing peas. Exactly how they should be done. Peas Perfection.

Every Sunday there are games from 1530 till around 6 is. Today was one big party ! Lots of winners of a card game called sticky 13 , meat raffle, cards higher and lower and the last game was called open the box. Have eaten here lots, sometimes it's exceptional, other times it's good. Portion sizes are always really good, as are the chips. Sometimes the fish is a little dry but I think that's always a risk with fish and chips because it depends on how busy they are. Staff are always really friendly and fast, even on busy nights.

We had my nans wake here and honestly Lily and her team were absolutely amazing!! So accommodating, friendly, helpful, supportive, could not recommend this pub enough. They have a large garden which is a sun trap, plenty of toys for the kids in the garden, and have events running every night. Thank you Lily and to your team for being so amazing!!

Don't really understand the negative reviews to be honest. I've ordered from here several times and had deliveries (I'm around 3 miles away), collections and just popped in the shop on spec. Prices are reasonable and food is decent. They've always made me aware if there will be a bit of a wait. It's a greasy spoon so your not going to get michelin quality, but for a takeaway breakfast or lunchtime sandwich it's absolutely fine in my opinion. I think there's only once I've been mildly disappointed but even then it wasn't that bad. Not sure if I've just been lucky or if other reviewers have inflated expectations. I know they've previously had issues finding counter staff and drivers but that's an industry thing as a whole at the moment.

Every Thursday there's a General Auction from 6pm to 8pm...well worth a visit.
