Always pass Haddon Hall on the way to the Bakewell Wool Gathering. I'd seen pictures of decorated for Christmas, and it looks stunning. I could quite happily live here. Heard people say, well, there's nothing here really. It is a complete gem. The wood panelling the carvings, plasterwork, are stunning. I got to see my first Dole Cupboard. Really enjoyed the candlelight evening tour. W were given mulled wine and mice pies, which were delicious. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. While I wish we could have seen more of the Gomez the 5 rooms we did see were beautiful with interesting bits of history in each one.

Christmas Artisan market.Very good home crafted market , in fabulous surroundings, beautiful house and gardens ,beautifully decorated for christmas. It was a crisp winters morning.My only criticism would be ,for more notification ,regarding access ♿ it's a grade 1 listed building ,with certain restrictions .There is a flight of stairs to the house and to the restaurant outside. Be very aware of uneven floors , and steps with no railings . Otherwise beautiful.
