What a lovely little gem of a gastropub. I visited some friends in Stanton in Peak with my little boy today and we met here. What a great pub. Friendly service, lovely food and really good beer. The place has a really nice cosy atmosphere and we very much enjoyed our visit. Lovely food, warm atmosphere, friendly staff. I can’t recommend this pub enough, went with a friend who had heard it served vegan food, it was new to me. Lovely home cooked food (I had a homemade homily pie, which was delish, my friend had the largest bowl of soup I’ve ever seen, also delish). The menu has a huge range of veggie and vegan options. An amazing village pub full of character and history. The landlord is super friendly and happy to tell all about the pub and the village. The pub has a connection to the phrase "worth its weight in gold" due to the racehorse it's named after. One of only 3 pubs with that name in the UK and very much a key part of the village.
