“Hidden gem. 100 yards off the main road so hiding in plain sight really. Comfortable and clean. Really excellent food, served quickly and with a smile. Pie to die for. Great selection of top class local ales. Best view ever from WCs. The highlight of our weekend trip to the Peaks. Well worth a visit.”

“Lovely lunch stop after the Litton circular walk. Warm, friendly welcome from Andy. Just made it in time to order food before the kitchen closed but no stress about that. Food was delicious and service fantastic. Definitely recommend.”

“Very pleasant overnight stay in late May 2023 in our campervan on our way to Scotland. Had a meal which was reasonably priced and very nice. Dedicated parking area for campervans and small motorhomes among the pens for the sheep and goats. Very friendly staff and locals and would be recommend to anyone. Padley Gorge is a great place to walk and nearby.Vegetarian options: No problem finding something to suit vegetarians.”

“3 of us came in late around 8.55pm, having been to 3 or 4 other places trying to get a meal late in the day for my sisters birthday, having no success at the others, Jack (soggy) welcomed us in and said that although the kitchen was about to close he would see what he could do for us. He spoke to the chef and offered us a limited menu, this was more than enough for us and the food we had was amazing with no detail spared. Excellent service from all and would highly recommend! It made my sisters birthday so thank you!”

“Ria is such a nice girl, the place wouldn't be the same without her. Me and my friend were there from about 9 until 10:30 (4th November) and we had such a good time. Its a comforting, friendly place that I can just be myself without worrying about what others think. Love it there, 10/10 definitely would ”

“Good food, perfect location.I really enjoy using The Bulls Head when I am in the area. We called in on Thursday evening for some food and as usual, great service with the food arriving very quickly. We really enjoyed the food, it was delicious! The bar staff are always friendly and quick, a great experience as always.Looking forward to re-visiting and maybe one day staying! ?Nearby activities: Peak Cavern/Devi's Ar*e,Treak Cliff Cavern,Speedwell Cavern,Winnats Pass,Mam TorPeveril CastleWalkability: This pub is central to Castleton, it is very close to the council run Castleton Car Park (though the pub has it's own car park for patrons). The Bulls Head is within easy walkability of Castleton Visitor Centre, Peak Caven, Peveril Castle and Cave Dale.Slightly further out but not that far are Speedwell Cavern and the views of Winnats Pass along with Treak Cliff Cavern and Blue John Cavern - all within walking distance.Food & drinks: There is a fantastic range of food and drinks. Every time I have visited, the food has been fantastic. Some of the prices are marginally higher than what you may pay elsewhere, but the slight increase is well worth it when you consider the location.Noteworthy details: This pub has a fantastic view up towards Winnats Pass. It can get very busy during the summer months, so I would advise booking if possible.”
